Raising The Roof
Turning a 1970's bungalow into a 6 Bedroom farmhouse isn't the most common brief we are presented but this didn't faze our experienced design team. This property will be unrecognizable once the project is finished, even though it is still only classed as an alteration. The ground floor storey and staircase are to remain intact with the roof being completely replaced with a full first floor storey and platform slate and lead roof. To limit the weight of the new upper storey, a timber frame construction was employed which is to be clad in western red cedar. The existing roughcast on the ground floor will be replaced with a smooth white render and all the windows are to be finished with a dark grey colour. The result is a striking contemporary high quality family home.
