Boathouse, Loch Lochy

Work has recently completed on a new Boathouse on the banks of Loch lochy. Built into the steep hillside, the actual building was relatively simple compared to the complicated civil engineering procedures required for the slipway. The Client's demanding brief of being able to launch the boat no matter the time of year seemed almost impossible due to the unpredictable 3m change in water level and cliff face loch bed just 15m out into the water. Experieinced divers were employed with much of the work being carried out over winter in far from calm conditions. But despite all the complications and numerous design solutions investigated, the Client is at last enjoy sailing on the loch whenever he chooses.
