Government Data Centre

Our successful relationship with the Scottish Government's facilities management team headed by MITIE continues with us leading the design and project delivery of the latest element of the upgrade of building services and installation of a major new Tier 2 Data Centre. Although architecturally quite straightforward, the project to construct Room 1 of the Data Hall sees us coordinating highly complex M&E systems within demanding structural and spatial constraints. We are carrying out this work within a very cost sensitive environment following a very complex procurement process.

This all clearly demonstrates how GLM's unique combination of design and technical expertise; knowledge and experience of the alteration and adaptation of existing buildings; and tailored project management approach, can ensure the successful delivery of even the most utilitarian of buildings or spaces.

Once again we are working for Facilities Managers MITIE. Wallace Whittle are the M&E Engineers and Upton McGougan are the structural engineers. The main contractor for this phase is Balfour Beatty Engineering Services.
