New roof at High Street, Dunfermline
GLM have just completed a 4 month refurbishment of the roof and external parts of the Bewise and Instore building on the High Street in Dunfermline.
The project, carried out on behalf of Buccleuch and Frederick Properties, encapsulated over 15,000sqft of dilapidated asphalt roof coverings and parapet copes with 'Liquid Plastic's' Decothene Gamma 20 polyurethene overlay system.
The contractor, 'McConnell Seamless Roofing,' carried out much of the disruptive work at night using arch lights and hydraulic platforms rather than scaffolding to minimise the disruption to both the retailers and shoppers and completed the works on time and budget despite some appalling weather.
Other works included pressure washing and repointing the white Portland stone-clad elevations and replacement of decayed doors and windows.
The former Woolworths department store, home also to Rilys Snooker Club, is now a picture of external health.
