Dunimarle Castle
This splendid A listed castle, set in beautiful countryside, occupies a prominent position overlooking the Forth just to the west of historic Culross. It is about half an hour away from Edinburgh.
Twenty years ago its owners put the external fabric into good repair but internally little had been done in well over 100 years. Some years earlier an Orangery was converted into a caretaker's flat by replacing its roof with a slated monopitch. Our client intends to reinstate the Orangery. There is also a delightful but poorly maintained chapel which will be conserved.
Our client bought the property in 2009 and appointed GLM to undertake a pre-acquisition condition survey and subsequently appointed GLM to design and project manage its restoration.
Planning consent has just been granted and work is advancing apace on the detailed design of a project that will make Dunimarle Castle one of the finest country houses in Scotland.
