Gardener's Cottage fit for a Lord

"I can't believe we live in such an amazing house!" This was the comment from our Clients on this recently completed project. When we first visited this cottage, the main entrance was via a solid door direct into the kitchen resulting in a draughty and dull interior. The staircase leading to the bedrooms upstairs was within the main living space. The bedrooms were small and few in number.

A year on, the entrance is through a dramatic, bright and open hallway incorporating an elegant oak staircase. The light floods into the other rooms in the cottage completely transforming the look and feel internally. 2 additional bedrooms, including a master suite upstairs, form the bulk of the extension but we also managed to include a study, a wine store and large utility room. Even the family dog got a new home, designed to be in keeping with the cottage.

Externally the cedar cladding and buff coloured render sit beautifully in the woodland setting whilst the arched headed dormers make reference to the arched headed windows to the main elevation of the existing cottage.
