Lyon and Turnbull

The upmarket Edinburgh based auctioneers Lyon and Turnbull occupy a Category A listed former Church in Broughton Place. The roof of this building had reached the end of its service life and leaks in the lead parapet gutters had caused decay in the massive roof timbers. Working with Elliott and Co, Structural Engineers, GLM prepared a scheme for the replacement of the defective roof coverings and timbers. The appointed contractor, A Thorburn Ltd has completed around half of the project to a high standard, co-operating closely with the auctioneers in their programme of important sales.
