GLM‘s sister company, Rushyglen, is seeing some exciting activity in what is otherwise a gloomy investment market. Set up in 2007, Rushyglen designs, manufactures and constructs high quality holiday cottages for the self catering market. The cottages have a vernacular external appearance which blends seamlessly with the countryside and easily finds favour with planners. On the inside they are styled and equipped to satisfy the most discerning of guest. Gone are damp smelling interiors, cast off furniture, mis-matching cutlery and weak showers. In are bright open rooms, latest audio visual equipment, hot powerful showers and furniture and beds more usually found in a boutique hotel.
The concept harnesses modern methods of construction to ensure speed and consistency of construction, minimise site time and maximise quality. As a result of the method of construction the cottages are highly insulated and waste is kept to a minimum.
Rushyglen has recently teamed up with the UK‘s top self catering holiday operator and the joint venture is actively looking at a number of sites across Scotland.
